Best loan rates from the Alliance & Leicester

September 18, 2007 Alliance & Leicester has declared that its new personal loan rate is the best in the UK. The new interest rate is 6.3% and is on offer to new customers as well Premier and Premier Direct holders and is available from September 17th to November 4th. A spokesperson for the Alliance & Leicester said borrowers can take advantage of the rate on loans worth between £7,500 and £15,000. The bank said it is continuously looking for ways to reward its customers and that said it has "consistently led the field" with its current accounts offering. In August, Alliance & Leicester introduced its Premier 21 account, which is aimed at the 43% of the UK's 16 to 21-year-olds who are not going to university this year. Alliance and Leicester is a leader in the UK's retail banking market. The personal loan is just one of many financial products offered by the bank, along with a highly competitive current account. Alliance and Leicester dates back to 1852 and has branches all over the country. Its ATM network comprises thousands of machines and has over 5 million personal customers.
